Well done to all the 300 plus Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and Adult leaders, parents, friends and helpers who came along and took part in the “Walk for Paul 2015” raising money for Saint Francis Hospice. They all completed the 17 mile walk around Romford visiting all of Romford’s 18 Scout HQ’s. Follow there fundraising progress on Facebook and view more photos of their event! https://www.facebook.com/WalkForPaul
There is still time to donate to their worth while cause! Please follow this link to donate: http://www.justgiving.com/walkforpaul
Enthusiastic, friendly assistant leaders needed to help run weekly sessions for 6-8 year olds – games, crafts, teamwork activities, also occasional day trips or overnight residential events at weekends.
Assistant Leaders are responsible, with the Leader, helpers and members, for planning and running the weekly activities for 6-8 year olds. It is a fun and rewarding role, allowing you to see young people enjoy the events/activities you organise and grow in confidence and ability over time. The Scout Association provides a wide range of books and electronic resources to aid volunteers plan their activities.
Our volunteers love what they do! Working with young people can be incredibly rewarding, seeing them achieve and make new friends can stay with you for life. Meeting like-minded people and enjoying activities are all part of a volunteer’s experience with the Scout Association. Our volunteers have access (free-of-charge) to an award winning national training programme to help them feel more confident in what they do.
Experience of volunteering with the UK’s largest co-educational youth organisation is a great addition to a volunteer’s CV when applying for paid employment in the children and young people’s sector.
You will need to complete an application form, provide two references and pass an enhanced DBS (formerly CRB).
