National Small-bore Rifle Association, Youth Proficiency Scheme Tutor Diploma
This training course will cover the syllabus laid down in the National Smallbore Rifle Association’s – Youth Proficiency Scheme Tutors Diploma. This is the minimum qualification required to lead groups of Scout Association members in this activity. Topics covered include: Law, Safety, Equipment, Range, construction, Basic shooting skills, Sighting, Session plans, Scoring targets and competition and Shooting games. The course will consist of theoretical instruction as well as practical sessions on the Rifle Range. Assessment will be by a final exam. Participants must attend both days and been 18 + years at the start of the course.
The outdoor courses are run at the Thriftwood International Campsite, Brentwood and other Scout & private centres. Any bookings should be made directly with the centre. The cost approx. £90 includes all instruction, handouts, assessment and a copy of the NSRA Youth Proficiency Scheme Tutors manual. All necessary equipment will be provided for the course. We will whenever possible help you to apply on any course. There is no Scout permit for this activity but a formal qualification is required.
