Thinking of going abroad with your Group or Section?

Travelling abroad is an exciting dimension of international Scouting.  It’s an opportunity to learn about another country and culture, to meet new people and experience new things, and to take part in a whole host of activities.

As soon as you think about organising a trip to another country, then you need to request the Visits Abroad pack. This will contain all of the information you need, and will give you other important rules that you need to consider.

If you are a leader already planning a visit abroad, please get in touch so that we can send you the latest Visits Abroad Pack.  You should let us know as soon as you start your planning, and remember that your trip paperwork needs to have been signed off at least 2 months (Europe) or 6 months (outside Europe) before you go.

Peter together with the International Team at Gilwell Park can support you with all of your planning and organisation, as well as advise on the rules, and contacts across the world.

Please remember that any pre site visits or 'recces' also need to follow the Visits Abroad pack information and be signed off by the relevant Commissioners and myself.

For further information, or for a Visits Abroad pack, please contact me on the details below. or drop me an email at international@glne-scouts.org

Best wishes

County Beavers

The county Beavers mascot now has a name!

Congratulations to Carter Epston from 7th Squirrels Heath who was won the mascot naming competition with the name Gladstone. We thought that the Gl and ne in the name was agreat idea with us being GLNE! Keep an eye out for Gladstone at an event near you soon!

Beavers County Science afternoon

Beavers from across the county gathered at Hargreaves for a great afternoon of Science! There was a wide range of experiments to try, including circuits, the magic floating orange, egg walk, canister rockets, sprite and Mentos, string telephones and compass making. 5 Beavers were chosen by leaders to receive special medals for being star scientists! All those who attended received a certificate.  Thank you to everyone who supported and helped out.  It was great to get all those involved in Beaver scouting together and for the children to meet others from across the county.
